We are an acoustic music collective from Petworth, West Sussex, with a core of singer/songwriter Alan Young, Carla March on vocals and Steve Welch on bass.
Mixing folk, latin and acoustic rock into one pot, we sing songs about real people and their real stories. Most of the time people like it, but there is one ageing gangster out there who we’re hoping is OK with what we said.
In 2018, we released our debut album, Empty Nest, on TCR Music. It was produced by one of our heroes, Boo Hewerdine, and featured Boo and other amazing musicians including Neill MacColl, John McCusker, Tanya Brittain, Jamie Francis and Evan Carson.
The critics seemed to like it, with Maverick Magazine referring to Empty Nest as “taking acoustic rock to new levels”,and RnR noting that they had no idea how to file it, but that was part of its charm.
We are currently writing and recording our not-so-difficult second album, which is planned for release later in 2019, accompanied by a national tour. In the meantime, we will be playing at a number of festivals over the summer, and are open for other suggestions of gigs to keep us out of trouble.
